Responsibilities:
•Assist in the revision of employee handbooks including making and tracking changes in Microsoft Word, researching employment law issues, and comparing policies of various transportation companies
•Complete a salary analysis of various positions comparing them to national averages; maintain Excel spreadsheet of confidential data
•Build and maintain database of unemployment costs; determine changes in unemployment claims month over month
•Research various HR metrics including those related to absenteeism, diversity, cost per FTE, and others specific to the transportation industry
•Assist in diverse project work related to health benefits and the administration of the Affordable Care Act
•Research and identify possible low-cost employee rewards programs; design an implementation program
•Assist in the day-to-day duties of HR administration including new hire tracking, employment eligibility verification, and recruiting
•Research the OFCCP’s final rules on VEVRRA and Section 503; identify methods to achieve compliance in the collection of veteran and individual with disabilities data
Qualifications:
•Must be majoring in Human Resources or a related field
•Minimum QPA of at least 3.0
•Must be a Junior or Senior level college student
•Attention to detail is a must
•Strong interest in the Human Resources field
•Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a team
•Proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to multi-task
•Ability to learn additional software quickly Leadership and volunteer experience strongly preferred but not required
•Ability to remain flexible/adaptable and excel in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Overview:
We are currently seeking Summer Compensation Intern to join the Global Data Services practice located in our White Plains, NY office.
The assignment will start around June 2, 2014 and last through August 2014.
Hours will be 8:30AM to 5:30PM, Monday through Friday, (Overtime may be required).
Performance Objectives:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to clean, enter, manipulate and analyze salary survey data from Fortune 1000 clients.
Must be a strong self starter and have the ability to work within a team environment
Proven analytical skills, good communication skills, detail orientation and PC expertise utilizing a database
College or graduate level courses in finance, statistics or other quantitative topics are preferred
Candidates will be expected to make a commitment to the full cycle of the assignment
