Job Description: Binera is looking to hire a Junior Operations Research Analyst to provide quantitative support to ongoing contracts with various federal and state customers.
Summary of duties and responsibilities: Successful candidate(s) will work to support senior analysts and project managers conducting quantitative assessments and analyses. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: modeling and simulation support (i.e., data development, data loading, model execution, and analysis of model output); model development; mathematical programming; decision analysis; statistical analysis; preparation and presentation of briefings to senior analysts; preparation of technical reports and documentation; and coordination and preparation for meetings.
Education: Bachelors degree in a highly quantitative subject from an accredited university or college with substantial coursework in a combination of the following: operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or systems engineering.
Experience: The ideal candidate(s) will have 2+ years of industry experience, but internships will be considered.
Required Skills: Minimum GPA 3.0. Highly ethical and self-directed individual who can work independently given initial guidance, and who possesses strong problem solving and excellent communication skills. In addition, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Knowledge of MS Excel and Access is required, with advanced Excel model development using VBA preferred.
Desired Skills: Programming skills and experience in developing Discrete Event Simulations or Optimization Models.
