Prudential Insurance Company – 2016 Investment Operations Internship
Business Overview:
Prudential Investment Management (PIM), through its specialized asset management units, offers a wide range of investment products and services to institutional and retail clients around the world. Within PIM, the mission of Investment Accounting Operations is to make quality data available to investment managers, enterprise reporting units and clients to enable the appropriate completion of Regulatory, Investment and Performance Reporting. The Investment Accounting team primarily supports Prudential Fixed Income, Quantitative Management Group, Finance, Performance Reporting, Prudential Capital Group, Prudential Mortgage Capital Company, the Community Resources Development and the Prudential Foundation.
Description of Responsibilities:
The Investment Accounting Intern is responsible for maintaining investment accounting, reporting and record keeping systems for various financial instruments including Fixed Income, Equity, Private Placements, Mortgage Loans, Derivatives and Other Invested Assets. Responsibilities vary by work unit and may include:
- Timely and accurate processing of trade activity, income payments, corporate actions, and deal restructurings in sub-ledger systems
- Performing cash settlements
- Preparing and verifying general ledger entries for portfolio activity
- Overseeing of financial data quality in the data warehouse and reporting databases
- Submitting and verifying of adjustments to financial data
- Reviewing portfolios and confirming rates and rate discrepancies
- Preparing quarterly regulatory reports to support our SEC and NAIC filing requirements
- Completing reconciliations to custody banks, trade systems and the financial statements
- Interfacing with various clients and business partners
- Supporting various ad hoc inquiries and projects

Air Liquide – Business and HR Internships
Air Liquide develops innovative technologies and sustainable solutions, optimizing the use of air and the planets natural resources, enabling progress and preserving life. Located in over 80 countries, we have more than 1,000,000 customers globally in diverse industries such as steel, food and beverage, electronics and pharmaceuticals. By using gases naturally present in the atmosphere, Air Liquide separates and purifies them into oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and various rare gases and then distributes them to clientele by pipeline, compression, cylinders, or in some cases, produced directly on a clients site. Air Liquide also uses other natural resources of gas to produce other gases caused by chemical reaction for their clients usage (hydrogen, carbon dioxide, acetylene, helium, ozone, carbon monoxide).
Our summer internship is designed to introduce college students to Air Liquide and the industrial gas industry. Interns work in a specific area of Air Liquide to develop their knowledge and skills while making contacts with people at all levels of the Company. Over the course of the internship, students learn about the Air Liquide corporate identity and culture while being given opportunities to build relationships with other new employees. Eligible interns may be considered for the ALLEX program.
Accounting and Finance
Assist with the automation of reports, study of the profitability of each business segment while being exposed to accounting, finance, reporting practices, and learning to solve financial business issues. Students will gain knowledge related to management of a large, geographically diverse, multi product organization that will require both highly analytic (statics and excel) and interpersonal skills, giving periodic progress reviews to management. Internships are located all across the US.
Business Analyst
Assist experienced business analyst in the continuous improvement of business processes and data collection systems. Provide analysis for the interpretation of business data and creation of concise, objective reports to be shared with senior management. Students will gain the ability to work well with multiple levels and functions in the organization with confidence, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and develop presentation skills. Internships are located all across the US.
Human Resources
Shadow and assist experienced human resources professionals in their daily activities and on special project execution. Interact with business leaders at all levels of the organization in order to implement human resource best practices. Students will become familiar with one particular human resource best practices.
Students will become familiar with one particular human resource specialty (HR Information Systems,
Compensation, Benefits, Employee and Labor Relations, Learning and Development, or Talent Acquisition) while developing networking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Internships are located all across the US.
