Through full-time positions, internships, summer jobs, and volunteering get experience to impact the well-being and development of others.
If you’re still looking for an internship, job, or summer position and want the chance to impact the well-being and development of others, attend The C.A.R.E. (Community, Agency, Recreation, and Education) Fair on February 24th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the HUB! The C.A.R.E Fair gives students the chance to network and explore the many opportunities of fulfilling and meaningful positions. To prepare, do these two things:
- Research the list of employers attending the C.A.R.E. Fair. There will be representatives from numerous fields there; from camp counseling to in-house care of the elderly, cruise lines to the Pennsylvania State Police. If you’re interested in helping people, there’s a position here for you. After you’ve reviewed the ones you’re interested in, make a top 10 list so you can be sure to talk to all of them. Be sure to take into account whether the position is seasonal or not; for example, a camp counseling position will most likely only be available for summers. See the list at the bottom of this post for some examples of employers currently registered for the fair.
- Attend one of the pre-fair workshops. On February 23rd, in 103 Bank of America Career Services Center, Career Services and the Career Enrichment Network will be hosting the events below to help students prepare for the C.A.R.E. fair:
- 10:00 a.m. RESUMANIA! Bring your resume to have it reviewed, 103 Bank of America Career Services Center
- 10:00 a.m. Walk-In Resume Review Hours, Liberal Arts Career Enrichment Network, 101 Sparks Building
- 4:00 p.m. Interview Tips, 103 Bank of America Career Services Center
- 5:15 p.m. After the Handshake: What to Say to Recruiters at the Fair, 103 Bank of America Career Services Center
Also, make sure to keep an eye out for employers hosting info session the same week as the career fair. For instance, the Supreme Court of the United States Police is hosting an info session on 2/24 at 3PM in 75 Willard to speak with students about full-time opportunities.
Still have more questions? Schedule an appointment with a Liberal Arts Career Enrichment Network staff member through Network Symplicity; they will look over your resumes and talk to you about your career plans.
