Rachel Sayre is Senior Disaster Specialist at the U.S. Agency for International Development, where she managed the Agency’s West Africa Ebola Response portfolio on behalf of the Administrator. A graduate of Penn State’s graduate program in International Affairs, Rachel has taught sociology in Bhutan, cybersecurity in Kenya, and computer classes in the jungle of Ecuador. She was selected as a recipient of the Penn State School of International Affairs Alumni Achievement Award and is offering this opportunity for students to learn more about USAID while she is on campus to accept her award.
Attend this session to learn more about Rachel’s career in international development and get advice on USAID opportunities and other ways to gain experience in the field of international development. Rachel is particularly suited to discuss the challenges and opportunities for women in federal government agencies.
