In order to provide a space for dialogue on the 2016 presidential election, Penn State faculty members are holding a forum on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in 111 Wartik, from 5-7 p.m.
“Students on campus have many questions and concerns about what a Trump presidency will mean for them and their families,” said Courtney Morris, assistant professor of African American Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. “The goal of this gathering is to offer an inclusive and supportive space for students, faculty, staff, and the State College community to process what has happened and get insights from faculty experts who can speak to those concerns in a productive way.”
The forum will be moderated by Paul Taylor, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of the Liberal Arts. Panelists include:
- Joshua Inwood, associate professor of geography and in the Rock Ethics Institute
- Ellen Stroud, associate professor of history
- Cynthia Young, associate professor and department head of African American studies
- Melissa Wright, associate professor of geography and department head of women’s, gender and sexuality studies
The event is free and open to the public. Students are invited to come participate in a discussion that will put student interests and concerns at its center while drawing on the expertise of faculty members in a broad range of disciplines.
