Position Summary: The two (2) Police Analyst positions perform specialized, confidential research and analytical work to provide crime and intelligence information and data in support of law enforcement activities including criminal investigations, patrol operations, and crime prevention. The work of this group is of a highly sensitive and confidential nature due to the restricted data received and collected by the Allegheny County Police. These are grant funded, time limited positions based on availability of funding for continuation from year to year.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Social Science, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field. Background in Criminological Theory and Research Methods preferred. IACA Certification preferred.
Equivalency will be awarded to applicants with four (4) years of experience in performing fact finding research, analyses, reporting OR three (3) years of experience analyzing intelligence information for the military.
Applicants are required to have Act 33 and Act 34 clearances. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License throughout employment.
