Here are a few things to keep an eye out for, in addition to the Monterey Jazz event on February 16. These events have been coordinated by your Paterno Fellows Event Team, Ryan Hartnett, Caitlin Embrey, Jackie Young, and Caitlin Ogram. Watch for further details on the following:
- Paterno Fellows Information Evening: Tuesday, February 23, 5:30 in 233 HUB. (Let Jack Selzer know if you have ideas for what you’d like to see covered in this Info session.)WHOOPS, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE THE HUB CANCELLED THE MEETING ROOM. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE FOR MARCH 2.
- Service and Leadership Opportunities for Paterno Fellows: Date TBA. This may be folded into the February 23 event, or it might be separate. In any event, we’ll provide suggestions for interesting and meaningful service and leadership opportunities particularly suited to Paterno Fellows.
- Liberal Arts Week events: March 29-April 2. Watch for details about the Cultural Fair, the Research Panel, the Great Debate, and the other events being planned by the Liberal Arts Undergraduate Council. (Some are designed for Pure Fun, I’ve heard.)
- Toni Morrison Visits Penn State: at 8 pm on April 7, the Nobel Prize winner (and author of several amazing novels, including Beloved–a book which many regard as the greatest novel written by an American in the past fifty years–will be here to give a lecture in Eisenhower Auditorium. Fifty free tickets in a prime location have been reserved for Paterno Fellows, and we hope to have a fantastic event beforhand as well. Stay tuned for more information.
