Based on their performance in their first two years at Penn State, 19 additional Liberal Arts students have qualified as members of the first, “pioneering” cohort of Paterno Fellows. Congratulations to them! (Their names are listed below.)
These 19 join the 24 Paterno aspirants who officially became the first Paterno Fellows on the basis of their successful academic work in their first two semesters at Penn State, in 2008-09; the additional 46 Liberal Arts students who moved from aspirant to Fellow after Fall semester 2009; and the dozen or so Schreyer Scholars admitted in Fall 2008 who are also working to become Paterno Fellows as well. In all, over 100 students are now officially Paterno Fellows from the class of 2012!
In addition, 26 students who entered PSU last fall have qualified for the SHC as Paterno Fellows based on their academic performance during the 2009-2010 academic year–they too are now officially Schreyer Honors College students as well as Paterno Fellows. Over two hundred others from the class of 2013 are still aspiring to become Paterno Fellows, and a great many will no doubt be qualifying in the next year. Many of them are doing extremely well and we’ll keep a close eye on their progress.
But for now, let’s congratulate these latest Paterno Fellows for their fantastic success:
