Penn State’s Center for Global Studies will award two prizes of $500 each year to Schreyer Honors College undergraduates who have completed commendable thesis projects that advance a global perspective.
These awards are intended not only to recognize the excellent work of students who combine studies in the Liberal Arts with a concern for global issues, but also to encourage these students to continue their contributions to the field of global studies.
Eligibility
The award applicants must be students in the College of the Liberal Arts and have completed a thesis project in the College. The thesis, in addition to being a unique and significant contribution to the students’ particular field, should also demonstrate scholarly engagement within global studies.
Application:
Eligible applicants must submit the following materials via email to cgsinfo@psu.edu:
- One chapter of the final, approved version of the thesis.
- A 1 – 2 page statement by the student on the influence the thesis project has had on the student’s academic endeavors and future plans, as well as an indication of how the thesis project makes a contribution to global studies.
- A statement of support from the thesis adviser.
Deadline:
All application materials must be received by Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Any documents received after that date and /or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
