Are you interested in gaining internship experience or a full-time position with a federal agency?
Many agencies post their positions through the federal jobs database, USAJobs.gov, so students interested in internships or full-time positions with the federal government should visit https://www.usajobs.gov to create an account, complete a profile, and start searching for positions.
Many federal agencies post their positions for very short periods of time, so you may want to use the search agent feature to get automatic notifications of new positions that may interest you so you don’t miss any application deadlines. Any agencies that require background checks will have deadlines months in advance of the start date, so start thinking about your plans for the next year and start your search early!
In addition to current postings, the USAJobs site Resource Center provides great information for students including their Federal Occupations by College Major listing that allows you to match up federal position job titles with your specific academic interest.
If you have questions about how to use USAJobs, please make an appointment to talk with a Career Enrichment Network staff member. We may post specific federal internships in Network Symplicity, especially those with longer application windows, but USAJobs is your best resource to access the full range of federal opportunities.
