Happy Thanksgiving! The semester is finishing up, and there are steps you can take to finish it strong!

Here are six things to do during Thanksgiving Break!

  1. Apply to the Liberal Arts Alumni Mentor Program to be matched with a mentor who can help you with skill development, career planning, and networking.
  2. Talk with your family about your plans to gain global experience in the new year. Applications are now open for summer 2018 and fall 2018 study abroad programs. Summer study abroad application deadline: February 1, 2018. Fall study abroad application deadline: March 1, 2018.
  3. Submit your application for enrichment funds if you need support for a Spring 2018 internship, research, or global experience. Priority deadline: December 1, 2017. We have a new online application system. Visit our website for more details on the application process.
  4. Get a handle on the strengths you can offer potential employers by taking the StrengthsFinder® on-line assessment.
  5. Save the date for upcoming events like our Careers in Counseling Lunch & Learn on December 7, 2017 (RSVP required in Network Symplicity), Summer Study Abroad Workshop on January 11, 2018, and Liberal Arts Career Week from January 22-26, 2018.

Summer & Fall 2018 Study Abroad Apps Open

Applications are now open for Summer 2018 and Fall 2018 study abroad programs, and we urge you to begin the process of applying! If you are unsure where to start, you can begin by attending one of Education Abroad’s Study Abroad 101 sessions, which will give you an overview of the study abroad opportunities that we have and advice on the next steps to take. These sessions are held every Wednesday, and you can find a list of our upcoming dates and times under the Steps to Study Abroad on our website.

You can also take a look at Education Abroad on our website for some more research on programs that you might be interested in and funding for certain programs. You are also welcome to set up an appointment through Network Symplicity with the Liberal Arts Global Experiences Coordinator, Chelsea Keen, to discuss any initial questions you may have about the process. The deadline for Summer 2018 is February 1, and the deadline for Fall 2018 is March 1.  You can find this under the How to Apply section of our website. Don’t wait to apply!
