Foreign Service Diplomatic Security Special Agents Now Accepting Applications

We are currently accepting applications for Diplomatic Security Special Agent (DSSA) positions.
Diplomatic Security Special Agents are specially trained Foreign Service security professionals; they are also sworn Federal law enforcement officers. Overseas, as a Regional Security Officer (RSO), you will advise ambassadors on all security matters and manage a complex range of security programs designed to protect personnel, facilities, and information. In the U.S., Special Agents protect the Secretary of State and visiting foreign dignitaries, investigate passport and visa fraud, and conduct personnel security investigations.

Announcing Registration for Fall 2015 Pre-Law Information Sessions

Penn State Pre-Law Advising offers two different information sessions, a Pre-Law Orientation Session and an Applying to Law School Session. The sessions are both facilitated by the Pre-Law Adviser and each session is limited to ten students. Please read the descriptions and prerequisites of the two sessions carefully to determine which session is best for you.
Pre-Law Orientation Session: Sessions are open to all students considering law school. First- and second-year students must attend a Pre-Law Orientation Session prior to scheduling an individual appointment with the Pre-Law Adviser or attending the Applying to Law School Session (see below). Juniors and seniors are also encouraged to attend, particularly those students who have recently decided to explore the possibility of law school.

- Preparing for law school and strengthening your application now (even if you are not yet certain that you want to attend)
- Skills required for law school
- Learning about law school
- Learning about the practice of law

Job Description
The Litigation Assistant position constitutes an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the legal industry and hands-on experience working with the firm’s attorneys. Litigation Assistants at Kobre & Kim join case teams upon arrival and, working in close collaboration with Analysts and attorneys, are responsible for assisting their teams with various administrative tasks. General duties include, among others, organization and maintenance of electronic case files, preparation of documents for court proceedings and filings, development and implementation of organization systems on case teams, management of the production and receipt of case documents during discovery proceedings, review and analysis of primary and legal documents, preparation of attorney and client binders, assistance with pre-hearing and pre-trial materials, and coordination of in-person document delivery and collaboration with external vendors. Litigation Assistants develop a strong command of the practical and logistical foundations involved with legal work.
Job Qualifications
Litigation Assistants are typically high-performing college graduates. Candidates should possess a four-year college degree, a strong GPA, and excellent teamwork, communication, organizational, and creative and anticipatory thinking skills. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness and ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Applications are encouraged from self-starting, highly-motivated individuals displaying an interest in exploring the legal industry and pursuing a career in law. Language skills, including Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Portuguese, while not necessary, are a plus. Litigation Assistants are expected to remain with the firm for a minimum of two years.
