Who are we?
Planned Parenthood Keystone (PPKey) serves 37 counties in Pennsylvania, home to over half of Pennsylvania residents. We have administrative offices in the Lehigh Valley, Harrisburg, Warminster, and York. We operate 15 medical centers that serve over 50,000 patients annually and offer comprehensive sexuality education that reaches thousands of young adults.
Full-Time, Non-Exempt position in our Lehigh Valley Administrative Office.
As a member of the public affairs team, the Grassroots and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing the robust volunteer program and supporting the public affairs department through activities related to 501(c) (3) grassroots outreach and community partnerships to increase public awareness of Planned Parenthood Keystone’s mission in the Lehigh Valley, Northeast Pennsylvania, and Bucks County.

About SCA:

The Student Conservation Association (www.thesca.org) (SCA) is a national nonprofit that offers conservation service opportunities all across the country.

Internships are in areas like trail work, visitor services, habitat restoration, working with historical and cultural resources, education, interpretation, resource management, wildlife, botany, biology, sustainability, community outreach, and other conservation related fields. Internships are expense paid, and include housing, travel, a weekly living allowance, and the possibility of an AmeriCorps Award. All majors, ages, and skills sets are eligible to apply. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Senior enrolled in a four year Bachelor degree program

Liberal Arts alumna and Deloitte Human Capital Senior Consultant, Valerie Bennardo, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts School of Labor and Employment Relations and has been working with Deloitte since her graduation in 2011. She is going to provide us with an overview of consulting – what it is, how it works, how students can prepare for this particular career path, and the skills that are essential for success. She also will be happy to answer any questions you may have so that you can better determine if a consulting career might be a good fit for you.

Networking Opportunity with Walmart Executives

Networking Roundtable with Walmart during the Military Appreciation Tailgate – Nov. 5
Location: Bryce Jordan Center

Walmart has a long-standing relationship with Penn State, which continues to grow. Part of that growth has revolved around the recruitment of new talent in to the Walmart family from Penn State undergraduate and graduate students. During the Penn State – Iowa Military Appreciation Game on November 5th, Walmart will be on campus supporting our Service members; during that time, they’re looking to also connect with you! They are offering the opportunity for students to network with Walmart executives who have travelled from their headquarters in Bentonville, AR during the Military Appreciation Tailgate at the BJC. This is a unique opportunity to get to know leaders within the nation’s largest retailer!

If you are interested in this opportunity, submit your resume to the posting in Network Symplicity (Job Postings -> Internships -> Network with Walmart Executives during Iowa Game) by Friday, October 21, 2016. Walmart will review and select 10-15 students to join them during the tailgate on Nov. 5 before the game. Princeton in Latin America: Apply by November 7

Interested in a year of meaningful service in Latin America?

Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) is accepting online applications for the 2017-2018 fellowship year until November 7, 2016.

PiLA matches highly qualified recent graduates with partner nonprofits and NGOs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean for a year of full-time service. Fellowship positions and organizational missions are highly varied, and thus applications from all academic disciplines are welcome.  In 2016-2017, 42 PiLA fellows are serving with 24 organizations in 13 countries around the region.

Important qualifications include academic excellence and polished English-writing skills; demonstrated commitment to community service at home, abroad or both; foreign-language fluency (Spanish, Portuguese and/or French); knowledge of or experience in the region, or both; leadership skills; interpersonal and intercultural sensitivity; the flexibility to live at a subsistence level and adapt successfully to shifting circumstances during the fellowship; and a commitment to PiLA’s mission that extends beyond the year of service.

Fellows receive a monthly stipend to cover subsistence costs, according to local standards.

A few examples of our fellowship opportunities:

*   Teaching sustainability or technology at a middle school in Uruguay
*   Monitoring and Evaluation for nonprofits in the DR and Guatemala
*   Grant writing work in Guatemala
*   External Relations Coordinator at a college in Bolivia
*   Finance team member for an impact investment organization in Nicaragua
*   Writing business plans for entrepreneurs in Chile, Argentina, and Mexico
