All Paterno Fellows must take an ethics course, right? And often those courses will require you to write a substantial essay, right? So why not spiff up that essay and submit it to the 2012 Elie Weisel Ethics Essay Contest described below? It will be easy to do so–and you might win a major recognition.
And get this: All Paterno Fellows who send in entries will win two free tickets to the Eisenhower Auditorium production of “American Idiot” next February 29. To collect, just show Jack Selzer a copy of the paper that you sent in for the Weisel competition: attach it to a note to jls25@psu.edu

The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity
The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics is an annual competition that challenges college students in the U.S. to submit essays on the urgent ethical issues that confront them in today’s complex world. Since 1989, The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics has been encouraging students to write thought-provoking personal essays that raise questions, single out issues and are rational arguments for ethical action.
First Prize: $5,000
Second Prize: $2,500
Third Prize: $1,000
Two Honorable Mentions: $500 each
Open to all full-time Juniors and Seniors registered at an accredited four-year college or university!
